Daddy Yankee joins Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny for a last collaboration in the video for “X Última Vez,” a single part of the farewell album Legendaddy.

Last March 20th, Daddy Yankee, also known as the ‘King of Reggaeton,’ announced his retirement from music, but not before releasing one last album titled ‘Legendaddy’ and a world tour ‘La Última Vuelta’. In this last project, which he promised would be the best of his career, Daddy Yankee collaborated with the genre’s best artists, including Bad Bunny

“X Última Vez” had already been released along with his album last March 24, but the news about the video was still unknown. The video for the song ‘X Última Vez’ was announced via Daddy Yankee’s social media in a teaser that featured Bad Bunny with the caption “Se paraliza el mundo mañana.”

The video was directed by Fernando Lugo and cinematography by Camilo Monsalve. ‘X Última Vez’ was filmed in New York and shows both singers in what looks like scenes from a dystopian-inspired scenario, showing a goat and a rabbit as allegories to the artists. The video was released on April 7 on Daddy Yankee’s official Youtube channel. In just one day, it accumulated more than 20 million views.

The song is about goodbyes and the end of a relationship, which could reflect Daddy Yankee saying goodbye with this album to his career and all his fans who have supported him for so many years.

This is undoubtedly a legendary collaboration with two of the greatest exponents of the urban genre in Latin America that have marked a before and after in music.

Similarly, “X Última Vez” marks the seventh and last collaboration between the two reggaeton stars. They joined forces for the first time in a project back in 2017 with the song ‘Vuelve.’ The most recent collaboration was on ‘La Santa,’ which is part of Bad Bunny’s album YHLQMDLG.

This would be Daddy Yankee’s seventh studio album and features collaborations with Rauw Alejandro, Natti Natasha, Becky G, Pitbull, Michael Buffer, Myke Towers, Sech, El alfa, and Lil Jon. His ‘La Última Vuelta’ Tour starts this August, and you can check out all the info here.
