If you look on Twitter’s “trends” section, you’ll see Barney trending. Barney the dinosaur? The purple dinosaur who’s known to be loving? Yes, that one!

Barney was trending on networks last September 28 after a new two-part documentary on the show was announced

“I Love You; You Hate Me” is set to expose the “dark side” of the show, with plenty of bashing and hate surrounding the famous character. The series will be released on October 12 through Peacock.

“I Love You; You Hate Me” is a limited series chronicling the rise and fall of Barney the Dinosaur’s furious backlash — and what it says about the human need to hate, the synopsis reads.

“From Barney-bashing to frat parties to homicidal video games, something in American society broke into a million pieces, and it’s never been put together again… or is this just who we were all along?”

Sounds dark, right?

Bueno, whether you hated or loved the character – what’s true is that it was the childhood home of some of our favorite stars of today.

With that in mind, here are three Latinx stars that acted on “Barney & Friends.”

Selena Gomez

Gomez is one of the popular actresses known for the dinosaur series. At the beginning of the year, she even had the SNL crowd sing along to the famous introduction tune. In “Barney & Friends,” she played the character Gianna in seasons 7 and 8. Gomez is of Mexican descent from her father’s side.

Demi Lovato

Lovato was another star who started acting in “Barney & Friends.” Lovato played the character Angela during seasons 7 and 8. Lovato’s father is of Mexican descent.

Zachary Soza

Last but not least, Soza was another Latin American descent actor who acted on the same show. He played the character Mario during seasons 7 and 8.
