What kind of traveler are you? Are you the type that prefers to stay at an Airbnb, or are you into hotels?
While there are many luxury accommodations for staying at hotels such as spas, casinos, restaurants, cafes, and my personal favorite: room service, there are also ways of mastering the art of Airbnbs. I know, I know; what’s better than room service? Well, for starters: privacy.
In the last few years, I’ve stayed in a few Airbnbs, where I’ve realized there are ways to improve these experiences than those in jam-packed hotels.
For example, at Airbnbs, you can feel more privacy compared to sharing the same floor with more rooms. If I’m on vacation, the last thing I want to be concerned about is chismoso neighbors. Or, even worse, listen to their arguments through paper-thin walls.
Here are some ideas to avoid these rookie mistakes and take your Airbnb experience to the next level.
Bring your own sound system
Okay, so I’ve heard that there’s a permanent party ban nowadays, but this doesn’t restrict you from putting on Karol G while you’re on your getaway. Now, I’m not talking about bringing your own DJ system. I’m talking about bringing a good speaker. One of the ways I’ve celebrated my vacation is by putting on music while I enjoy a home-away-from-home type of vacation. Personally, it’s always soothing to put on music when I am getting ready for a night out or while cooking a nutritious meal.
Pay attention to the Airbnb’s location
This may seem like a common thing to do, but I’ve been in situations where I decide to book a place closer to the airport rather than where my itinerary’s events are located. This means more rideshare (or gas) charges that you can use towards other activities.
So, next time you’re booking an Airbnb, make sure it’s close by to the hiking trail or the restaurant you’re looking forward to!
Make sure it’s all legit
Don’t get scammed! There have been all types of scams regarding booking an Airbnb. Of course, these unfortunate situations can happen anywhere, so it’s always good to be cautious of your surroundings.
Whether it’s by investigating the host’s legitimacy or making sure there are plenty of credible reviews, it’s recommended to take a further step to ensure all is good while booking the Airbnb. The last thing you want is to arrive at a non-existent location where your so-called destination was supposed to be.
