What’s better than binge-watching your favorite television show over and over? Try streaming new series that involve Latino talent!

One of the ways to support your Hollywood Latino community is by watching and recommending series that feature Latino characters and talent. Whether behind the scenes or in acting roles, these recommendations get ratings up, which translates to more buzz and hopefully more opportunity!

While some of our favorite Latinx shows end up prematurely canceling, they’re still celebrated and worth the word-of-mouth push. Who knows? Maybe one day they can be renewed.

As of now, though, here are three of the series with Latino characters that we’re currently watching.

If you’re into light drama, I recommend “Good Trouble.” For the coming-of-age type of drama, I recommend trying the new “Gordita Chronicles,” which follows a Dominican family that moves to Miami. Lastly, if you’re into a good comedy, I recommend the popular sitcom “Superstore,” which stars one of our favorite Latina actresses, America Ferrera.

Want to know more about each show? Here’s more information – and yes, we’ve included where you can stream episodes right now.

‘Good Trouble’ (2019 – )

“Good Trouble” is described as: “Residents of a communal living space juggle career, sex, love, and friendship while fighting for social justice and queer rights by making noise and getting into good trouble.” It stars the American (of Colombian and Mexican descent) actress Cierra Ramirez. You can stream the episodes via Hulu.

‘Gordita Chronicles’ (2022)

HBO Max’s new comedy series stars Dominican-American actress Diana Maria Riva, American (Cuban and Puerto Rican descent) actor Juan Javier Cardenas, and Dominican-American actress Olivia Goncalves. “In ‘Gordita Chronicles,’ Cucu “Gordita” Castelli (Olivia Goncalves) says goodbye to the Dominican Republic and moves to Miami with her father (Juan Javier Cardenas), mother (Diana Maria Riva), and older sister (Savannah Nicole Ruiz),” HBO Max describes it. “But while life in America is far from what they imagined, they are determined to take charge of their strange new world in this uniquely funny coming-of-age series.” You can stream the episodes via HBO Max.

‘Superstore’ (2015 – 2021)

This may be a bit of a throwback, but one of the shows I’m just now watching is the sitcom “Superstore” with Mexican-American actress America Ferrera. It’s described as: “a quirky family of employees at supersized megastore Cloud 9 tackle the day-to-day grind together.” Ferrera recently made headlines as part of the upcoming 2023 comedy/drama film “Barbie,” – so you know I had to binge on her previous acting roles. Moreover, she’s also credited as one of the producers of “Gentefied.” You can stream the episodes via Peacock.
