Kenia Os is currently one of the most important names in the entertainment industry in Mexico. At only 23 years old, this Mexican singer-songwriter, influencer, and entrepreneur amasses more than seven million subscribers on YouTube. After a few years of working on her music debut, Kenia Os has surprised fans with fantastic news.
On September 30, the famous Mexican pop songstress released her newest single, “Mía Mía,” alongside her first-ever North American tour dates, beginning in 2023.
“I started thinking about everything as soon as I was propositioned to make an album from scratch. So, I started writing with my team,” Kenia Os said in a written press statement. “Mía Mía’ was the first song we wrote; we had it in mind that this was going to be part of a new project and that it could literally be a universe of possibilities.”
She continued: “With ‘Mía Mía,’ I was able to imagine the visual aspect that we can now present to you, in addition to the story we wanted to create for the videos and the K23 character, which is an extension of myself.”
Produced by JonTheProducer, “Mía Mía” is inspired by K-pop and the 2000’s electronic music. It sounds like a light trap track with sharp, unapologetic vocals describing self-love. Towards the song’s end, the BMP turns up a dial to a fun, club-ready banger.
“I have always believed that we all have different universes within ourselves. In my case, I feel there exists a part of me that is Kenia Os, another that is Kenia Guadalupe, and another that is just Kenia…K23 is like a kenini in the metaverse.”
